How did you react when Lyra thinks of Will in LO?

In Lyra's Oxford, there is a line where she thinks about Will. The line is: 'She thought, "Will-Will-be like Will-"'

When I read that, I got really happy for some reason. I think it's because after all this time, Will is still a big part of who she is, even though she hasn't seen him for years. What are your thoughts?

Yep. Definately glad that she was still keeping him in mind. Not only that, but she's trying to live as best as she could be, like Will, because in her mind he was the best person.

I read it on the way to a friends house, which was a good 45 minutes away, so why my cousins were chatting, i was completely isolated. I was soooo happy to read more about HDM, although honestly, I was kindof hoping that they would magically get back together.
O well......that was two summers ago, so now I've accepted that they have to live apart.

It was great to hear of Will. He is my favourite character, no, it's not fair to say that. I liked all of the characters. I just enjoyed his way of acting. xD

I got excited when I read that too, because right from the beginning of the book I was looking for references to what had happened in TAS, particularly between them--probably because I bought both books at the same time, and had just finished The Amber Spyglass. I was very disappointed at first because there seemed to be nothing, but what there was made me happy.

Oh it seriously made my day! I wasn’t excepting it but I was lol. I was hoping she would say something about it like some of u wanted so I seriously had a huge grin on my face and a tear run down my cheek! It shows that Will is still a big part of her life even though there is no chance they will ever see each other again *crying!!!* soooo sad!

I liked the fact that she still thought of him expecially in dangerous situations, also interesting how she thought "be like Will" instead of iorek or lee.
I would of liked more references though.
