ok i have read the first two books in HDM and at the begining of the amber spyglass and i was sure that in the subtle knife Will's dad had a Dæmon when he went into Lyra's world, saying something like "i never knew there was this part of me" or something similar, but in amber spyglass will has to have the angel be his Dæmon so he isnt noticed in Lyra's world. so im confused, did i imagine that will's dad had a Dæmon or is there a reason why will doesnt??
please sort my confusion!!

It's been a bit of a mishap on PP's part and it threw me off for some time too, but I think the new maps LA just posted images of clear it up-

It appears John Parry described it in short due to limited time (understandable) and in actuality a shaman of Lyra's world helped bring Sayan Kotor into visibility.
If you check point #2 on the first map that's what I mean. Be a bit careful though around here since you haven't read all the books! And welcome here of course!

It would make sense that, as Will became a shaman when he was in the Land of the Dead (as did Lyra) due to his dæmon being 'ripped out of him' and that is what occurs with witches, John Parry also became a shaman when he took the same test. As for Mary, her dæmon is only viewable through large amounts of concentration.

The witches had to cross a place in the north of their world (If I remeber correctly) so, wasn't it possible that he crossed this area upon arrival in Lyras world?

Because the Dæmon in our (will's) world are subtly different to theirs. In our evolution our Dæmon evolved invisible, whereas in Lyra's world, they involved visible.
