Lyra and Mrs. Coulter
Does Mrs. Coulter ever actually tell Lyra that she is her mother? She expresses it when Lyra is leaving her in the cave, but that's as close as I have found to it.
Re: Lyra and Mrs. Coulter
I think she says it when Will breaks Lyra out the cave, when she's all like "Lyra! My love! Don't leave me!" etc etc.
I'd imagine that she figured Lyra would know by this point, having spent time with the Gyptians.
I don't think she ever actually says it directly though...

Re: Lyra and Mrs. Coulter
No I don't think she does. She either knew that Lyra knew or didn't care whether Lyra knew it or not.
Harry: "Tell me one last thing. Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?"
Dumbledore: "Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?"
Just because the forums aren't as active as they used to be, doesn't mean we're not anywhere else! FYI I'm now at the Harry Potter fan site, COS forums, as 'Liez' if you miss me!

Can only remember she said it in the movie

Re: Lyra and Mrs. Coulter
Yup, she made it quite clear in the movie. One of the things they changed from the book
Re: Lyra and Mrs. Coulter
In the books, Mrs. Coulter never actually tells Lyra that she is her mum, but she knew that Lyra had listened her talk to Lord Boreal in TSK, just like she also knew that Lyra could read the alethiometer and it would tell and I think she figured out that Asriel had probably told her everything when they met in Svalbard...
