Read the description below.

A new dramatisation of Philip Pullman's magnificent His Dark Materials trilogy premiered at the National Theatre in London, Christmas 2003.

The trilogy - comprising Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass - is already acknowledged as a contemporary classic, delighting readers of all ages throughout the world with its cunning blend of traditional children's adventure, science fantasy and sophisticated theology.

Dramatised in two parts by award-winning playwright Nicholas Wright (Vincent in Brixton) for a production directed by Nicholas Hytner, the escapades of Lyra and Will in their parallel worlds have now been brought thrillingly to life.

The breathtakingly ambitious adaptation is essential reading for those who have read (and loved) the book - and those who are yet to experience the thrill.
