Cinematical reports: The recent trailer release gave us plenty of reasons to geek out over the promise of The Golden Compass, New Line Cinema's winter tentpole and hopeful torchbearer in the franchise department: The talking polar bear, the emergence of another young talent named Dakota, Daniel Craig's reunion with fallen Bond babe Eva Green, Daniel Craig's (post-Invasion) reunion with Nicole Kidman... Now we have some pretty artwork to feast our eyes upon, along with four character posters that are essentially puzzle pieces enlarged from the key art. Not that we mind: Check out the shoulders on Kidman! Salty. Green's poster gives us a nice view, too, of the scenic parallel universe. I suppose the ladies will dig on Mr. Craig's Wright brother-in-the-wilderness look as well. And yeah, the kid on the bear's cute and all. Safe to say this one's already shaping up to appease all ages...

#1 i don't like it
but i can give it a chance because the rest of the material (trailer, other poster, site) looks awsome!
Hope for another poster with one image, less amateurish and more dark to come…

It is a bit amateurish. I hope they don't use it in movie theaters. I like the spyfly though. It wasn't how I pictured it but it might actually be better.
But why is Serafina wearing blue! I can take purple. But blue?

I like it. Not as good as it could have been, but pretty sweet none the less.

I see the spyfly! And I just went to see Order of the Phoenix and guess what I saw. Yep, Golden Compass trailer on the big screen!

These posters are certainly exciting, but do look highly unprofessional. Hopefully the ones New Line uses to advertise the film in theaters are better.

I saw this poster in a theater. I like it - it has more actors, more star appeal, dæmons, spy-fly, intriguing background stuff, tagline, actual compass, good stuff! Think of LOTR and HP - showing the different actors is successful.

I did indeed see this poster when I went to the theaters to see Order of the Phoenix! Sadly, I didn't get to see a trailer of The Golden Compass. =[

sweet, they may not be bone shatteringly awesome, but any news is good news especially new posters and trailers

#12 A little harsh?
I don't think the poster's that bad. The disapointment I'm worried about is them changing everything in the movie- I hate when they don't stick with the books. Though some changes are justified, we already like the books for what they are.
And how come I haven't been seeing any of these advertisements at the movie theaters. I'm trying to get the rest of my friends to like the books so that they'll want to see the movie and hopefully it will do well and they'll make all three books into movies. The trailors and propaganda would help.
