Movie Press Kit on ebay

Tagged with His Dark Materials Movies 11 comments

fbi_woman alerts us that a press kit from The Golden Compass movie adaptation has appeared on eBay.

From the seller's description:

"It contains 14 think gossy pages with beautiful color photos of scenes from the movie, its cast and artwork of scenes not yet filmed at time of printing."

The auction is worth a visit just to view the provided photographs.

Awesome and beautiful!  I really hope someone on this site or another fan site buys it…

#2 No...

I think it's a bit sad to auction something like this off. New Line gives us items like these to help us understand what they're working on. Not for us to go ahead and sell them.

So no, we won't be selling any His Dark Materials movie merchandise… Although we will be offering you the chance to win an exclusive item in the near future....

Something way cooler than a press booklet.

I can't imagine New Line would be too thrilled their press materials are being used to make profits. It is neat for us to get to see the new images, and I supposed any fansite posting about it is just a bit more promotion, but still. It's a bit tempting to look up what media outlets near Reading may be the culprit.

Oh! I bet it's the footage of LA flying around like a witch! =D

I would never auction off something like that, but I'd sure love to buy it if I could lol. I've seen lots of movie press kits on there, but never had the pleasure of getting one lol. I sure did like looking at the pics the seller posted though.

Well, on a different note, If that picture of the Armoered Bear is Iorek, then I'm so freakin' excited, more than I was before (which I didn't think could be possible.)

He looks amazing.

Well, I'm completely agree with the Administrators...Who could sell something so exclusive (and useful for the media) just to make some money?Apart from this...The Armored Bear is simply wonderful, as the setting near Mrs. Coulter!

I actually think it's an interesting interpretation of our own human history. (We all know that Lyra's world is a "different" view of our own.)

If indeed their intention was to turn him into a dinosaur looking creature, with the horns and all, it could very well be a creative play on our own "dinosaurs" of history, since it is never stated that Lyra's world had dinosaurs. If this is the case, Chris Weitz has a wonderful imagination and is using it to his fullest capabilities.

But even if it isn't a reinterpretation of the dinosaurs of our own world (Will's World), still, I think it looks very cool.

I don't think Iorek's armor was anywhere near that fancy looking, it almost passes off as something Iofur would have worn (except without those fancy plumes on the helmet).
Even so, I'm feeling very excited about all the CGI things that are going to be added including the d

I agree.  The books state (more specifically The Northern Lights states) that the armour of a bear is his soul.  Therefore, I think you can interpret the bear's personality and soul from that armour- much like d

hmm.. is it possible that picture isnt of Iorek… but of Iofur (Ragnar)?
I don't know how happy I am about the horns.. but hey.. horns are horns, what're you going to do about it?

there is no doubt in my mind how successful these films will be
