Happy New Year!

On behalf of the HisDarkMaterials.org’s team, I’d like to wish all His Dark Materials fans a happy and prosper 2008!
This past year has been a very interesting and exciting year for all of us, with the release of The Golden Compass and everything surrounding that. The release of The Golden Compass teaser trailer was the best viewed news article, followed closely by Chris Weitz’ message to the fans about the cut ending, and our The Golden Compass reviews. We welcomed over 3.700 new members this year, breaking the 10.000 members mark, and all of those people posted over 120.000 messages and comments!
Thanks to everyone who’s been involved with HisDarkMaterials.org in any way. We are confident that 2008 will bring a lot of new exciting things for us His Dark Materials fans.
As always, you’ll be the first to know here on HisDarkMaterials.org!

Just as it's not easy being green, it's not easy being popular either. It seems that so many people dropped by last night that our server complained and suspended our account.
Luckily everything should be fixed by now. Apologies for any traumatic experiences involving error pages.
Thank you for bearing with us!

First Of All A Thank You
January 28, 2007 in HisDarkMaterials.org Related
Before I post my extended opinion on the movie I just wish to thank a few people who made my stay in London possible and/or a lot more enjoyable.
First of all Gordon Paddison for inviting me in the first place, Samantha Shuman for making last minute travel arrangements, Nicole Butte, Joe Whitmore, and Clare Anne Conlon for being helpful and generally nice people to hang out with. Thanks to Deborah Forte, Mark Ordesky, and Ileen Maisel for being so accessible and willing to shed some lights on the movie's development. A big thank you to Chris and Dakota who took the time to talk to us; also everybody on set who introduced themselves and talked about their experiences.
Also Scott from Hollywood.com, Jenny from JoBlo, and Heather from ComingSoon for explaining what a per diem is and being cool people to hang out with. Drew from AICN for making some good points about the movie. Kyle from UGO for accompanying me on my final day in London. Finally Jennifer from MTV and Devin from CHUD for brightening up the evening.
Happy New Year!

Finally! Theme Switching
November 3, 2006 in HisDarkMaterials.org Related
To change the website's theme simply click on one of the links in the theme switcher on your right. Most of you will probably want to try out 'Classic bright,' our answer to all the people we had complaining that the "website was way too dark." (Ladies and gentlemen, the books are called His Dark Materials...)
Secondly, as you might have noticed, I also added an overview of the five most recent posts on Cittàgazze, as I thought that might be useful.
If you have any remarks or suggestion about the theme switching, possible themes, etc, please drop us a line.

However, as I was coding the new website I realised that Cittagàzze needed to recoded as well, Svalbard had to be rebuilt from scratch to make the website into a coherent whole. This meant that it was more than two weeks before we arrived at the point where we are now.
Hopefully all of you will enjoy the new and improved website; as always, if there are any comments or suggestion you can always contact us. I've listed some of the changes below.

- Today we officially launch our His Dark Materials RPG (Role Playing Game): The Realm of Dust. Roam Svalbard as a Panserbjørne, explore Lyra's Oxford or make friends with Mulefa with your own character(s).
Please have a look around the RPG's website for more information!
- In an effort to make the Cittagazze Forum even more pleasant to you we've worked hard to enable theme selection. The fact that you don't like the dark theme shouldn't be an excuse anymore to join our His Dark Materials Community!
Please refer to the theme switching thread for more information and support. You can also suggest more themes there.
- If that's not enough for you, we'll unveil more new features to improve our site in the coming weeks.
(And remember, if you have any suggestions please let us know!)
You can celebrate on the boards.
