I have recently found the following review on a German site. I have translated and published it here because of its beautiful explanation of the meaning of the Greek word daimon that Pullman “recycled” to use it in his story.

If there are any people among you interested in visiting the National Theatre's His Dark Materials stageplay then I would certainly recommend visiting this webpage, because it offers all the information you could possibly require:

The Albemarle of London National Theatre's His Dark Materials Webpage

Albemarle of London is an official London theatre agency. The link has been added to our database.

The award-winning children's author Philip Pullman today launches a broadside against the government's "brutal" school testing regime, warning that it is creating a generation of children who hate reading and "feel nothing but hostility for literature".

I just received the cover image of the book of the National Theatre's His Dark Materials stageplay, The Art of Darkness, written by Robert Butler. The image has been added to our Image Gallery.

Ceres Wunderkind did it again: in Time and Peter Joyce the wonderful story of The Clockmaker's Boy is continued – and finally brought to an end, as it seems.

Taking your pick

This article is aout giving children the space to develop their reading habits. It mentions Northern Lights as well: "First in Philip Pullman's magnificent His Dark Materials trilogy and a genuine modern classic. Know your child, though, and don't ruin it by pushing it too soon."

Interested in seeing the National Theatre's His Dark Materials stageplay? If so, check this website:

http://www.thisistheatre.com

It contains extensive information on the stageplay and a list of all performance dates.

This ia a very critical review of His Dark Materials, containing remarks like "What makes it worse, if possible, is Pullman’s own dishonest attitude towards his work. " and "Phillip Pullman ultimately fails as a writer in His Dark Materials".

An interesting read...

This is a letter from the Guardian, that askes for more fun in school, and supports the concerns expressed by Philip Pullman .

This article is about how many best-selling authors like JK Rowling and Philip Pullman have plegded to print their books on paper from sustainable forestry projects.

Philip Pullman is a brilliant story-teller. Sometimes you are swept away in a high-spirited, action packed tale; sometimes the richness and breadth of imagination and mystery makes the reading compulsive. Either way, it's real 'torch under the bedclothes' stuff as Richard Howes and Holly Williams found out.

From the Guardian: The profile of Nicholas Hyntner, the man behind the His Dark Materials stageplay.

I just received the first picture of Anna Maxwell Martin (Lyra) and Dominic Cooper (Will), from the National Theatre´s His Dark Materials Stageplay, and it has been added to our image gallery.

The picture was taken by by Hugo Glendinning

This is a really good article about bears. Although it hasn't got anything to do with His Dark Materials, I'll use the excuse that it mentions Philip Pullman's Panserbjornar (correct plural of panserbjorne?) to post it here...

This is an exerpt from the Guardian's 50 top tips for the Autumn. The National Theatre's Stage Play of His Dark Materials was ranked 12th.
