Yahoo! Movies has added a new video on dæmons and their role in The Golden Compass movie. The video features mostly new footage with short clips of numerous actors speaking about dæmons. We are also treated to our first clip of Hester on screen.

Very cool - I like Lyra and Pan’s chemistry. And Daniel Craig is simply the man - he so clearly knows what he’s talking about and loves the books.

They look awesome! I think Nicole will nail Marisa, and the monkey looks scary. I love Stel and Pan the most though.

That was absolutely brilliant. With every extra second of footage I see with her as Marisa Coulter, I am more convinced that Nicole will perfect her. And Daniel Craig? I was skeptical of the choice of him as Lord Asriel at first, but this video proves that he is just as passionate about these books as we are and more than worthy of the role.

I really love the comments from Daniel Craig and Freddie Highmore most. Both very eloquent about dÃ¦mons. Hester’s voice is spot on, and unlike the radio dramas their humor is light and in place (from their moment of pantomiming the other).

Hester’s voice suddenly clicked for me. It makes sense that she has the same accent as Lee. It might seem obvious but I hadn’t thought about it till now.

I love the attention the actors are paying their roles. It will definitely make all the difference that they’ve read the series. I am very impressed.

Now for the real test: Can I really wait a couple more months?

I am absolutely amazed by Hester. The thing that really startled me was that this Hester has the *same* (!) voice as in the audio book version. I wonder if they actually were lucky enough to get the same actor.

And as a great Freddy Highmore fan I am thrilled that he is Pantalaimon’s voice.

i hope they don’t change much from the book.
the only movie that didnt do much of the was the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. (ive read that series, too)

I really liked this video. I liked watching them in the recording studio, where they were recordin gin synch with the movie. That was cool.

Hester sounds perfect! I love her chastising tone showing the practical side of Lee. Stelmaria’s voice is amazing too. It’s so great that at least some of the actors have read the books! =]

I LOVE the Lee/Hester relationship...!
I think dÃ¦mons will be a really great thing to have in this movie, because they can express the characters’ inner feelings physically.
