The Golden Compass arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray today, 29 April.

The Golden Compass is released in a two-disc special edition as well as a single-disc edition.

A Best Buy Exclusive offers fans a bonus disc included with the two-disc widescreen edition of the film. The extra disc includes footage of the cast, stunt work, and filming locations.

Please note: some places appear to be promoting an "Extended Edition" of The Golden Compass. Note that this is actually the two-disc edition of the movie. There is no extended footage available at this time outside of the early film left in The Golden Compass video game.

Getting both the Blu-ray and the Best Buy DVD. Covering all platforms, helping Warner and New line fund the sequels—joy!

OK that’s weird the board introduces a random ; after type....it should be type=category rather than type;=category…

Hopefully New Line/Warner Brothers derives enough profit from DVD sales to seriously consider doing the sequels.  It would be a pity if they did not!

This of course means that I am going to buy it today without hesitance.  ;)

Best Buy link is hated, news doesn’t like double equal signs. Adding that the bonus disc *appears* to make the 2 disc DVD edition far more expensive - from 24.99 to 35.49, but it’s a “new release” so the price comes down to 24.37 anyway (or near those numbers). Will report back sometime soon on the value of the “bonus disc.”

Target packaged it in with a miniture version of the movie storybook...which did NOT omit the ending.

Screen captures of all 3 disks of the Best Buy edition are being added to photograms momentarily ;).

There’s over 7,000 files if my computer calculated correctly.

The Best Buy with bonus disc costs around $24 in the US right now. That’s only right now though because it’s a new release. It depends which store you’re looking at, which country you’re looking from, and which DVD you’re looking to purchase, though.
