Our friends at QuesteOscureMaterie.it have alerted us to a series of images scans from the tie-in book "The World of The Golden Compass." Notably, these scans feature some images from the now-misplaced ending of The Golden Compass, including an image of the city beyond the aurora, a map of Lyra's world, and scenes of Billy Costa with his mother.

Fun fact: the man netting Lyra in that picture is the man with the fox dæmon - the first dæmon death in the book, and likely the movie as well.

This images are really, really great! Seriously!! It’s really sad we won’t see the ending because this images of the ending are the best I have seen so far..Cittagazze is marvellous....

Oh man, so they’re reuniting Billy with his mom after he’s severed, before he dies. That’s brilliant, but horrible. They’re not pulling punches. They’re not watering it down for the kiddies.

I’ve seen the book, is really well done!But I want to aware people that sometimes this kind of works shows photos taken from cuts (I remember something similar for LotR...The scene was later putted in the extended version)...I suppose that there’s no way to know if all the scenes from which the images are taken will be in the finished movie.I think that the Billy part would be in, though…
