Biography
Magda Szubanski (born April 12, 1961 in Liverpool, England) is an Australian comedic actress and writer. She is best known internationally for her performance as Mrs. Esme Hoggett in the hit Australian film "Babe" and its sequel "Babe: Pig in the City". Magda first achieved fame in her adopted country Australia in 1989 with the sketch comedy show "Fast Forward" and is more recently known for her role as Sharon Strzelecki in the popular Australian comedy series "Kath & Kim". In 2006 she voiced the penguin teacher, Miss Viola, in the award-winning computer-animated film "Happy Feet".
