2003, the year that followed 2002 and came before 2004 saw some big events, and a lot of small uninteresting ones.

Eragon, by Christopher Paolini[1], and some Harry Potter books, were published.

On February 15, there were global protests against the Iraq war: more than 10 million people protested in over 600 cities worldwide, the largest war protest to take place before the war occured. [2]
On March 18 - May 1, multinational forces(at beginning - United States, United Kingdom, Poland, Australia) began the invasion in Iraq.
On July 21, many children were on holidays.
On September 9, Israel's prime minister, Ariel Sharon, maked the first ever visit by an Israeli PM to India even as neighbour Pakistan raises eyebrows and Islamic countries watch silently. [3]
On October 17, a girl called Maia turned 15 (at least it´s very probable).
On December 1, the use of hand-held mobile phones while driving was made illegal in the United Kingdom. [4]
On December 31, the year was almost over.
