The first man to have gained conciousness. He was tricked by the Authority into believing that he and Eve were created by the Authority.

Will represented Adam, and together with Lyra they re-enacted the fall of Adam and Eve.

Christian Belief

Christians believe that Adam was the first man made by God and was created to enjoy paradise, to serve God lovingly, and to take care of all of the animals He created. God then made Eve out of a rib from Adam's chest while Adam was under a deep sleep. Eve was tempted by the Devil in the form of a serpent to eat a fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, disobeying God's orders as she and Adam thirsted to have power and be equal to God. This Biblical story is commonly referred to as The Fall or Original Sin.
