'Angelica is a red-headed girl who lives in the haunted city of Cittàgazze with her younger brother, Paolo, and her older brother, Tullio. They are street urchins, meaning their parents have either been destroyed by specters or fled to the country. Angelica claims that their parents went to hide in the hills, when Cittagàzze was overrun with specters. This seems to have happened before, as she says that 'they (the children) like when it happens'. Since all the children, who are not affected by specters, can do whatever they want in the empty city.

Her brother, Tullio, is later attacked by specters after losing to Will in a fight over The Subtle Knife. Angelica blames Lyra and Will, and she and the other Cittàgazzean urchins set out to kill Lyra and Will. She and her brother Paolo are seen at the beginning of chapter 10 in TAS, talking to Father Gomez.
