Arctic
From Srafopedia
The Arctic is the area around the North Pole. It is opposite the Antarctic, which surrounds the South Pole. Its boundaries are commonly defined by being north of the Arctic Circle (66° 33’N), but could also be defined by climate or plant and animal life. The arctic is a large area consisting of frozen ocean and a frozen, treeless ground. [1]
It is the home to animals such as polar bears and seals. Plant life, however, is sparse because of the extreeme cold.
In the His Dark Materials series, John Parry went missing in the Arctic whilst searching for the Anomoly.
