Two experimental theologians who postulated the existence of numerous invisible, unreachable, yet material worlds. They were silenced by the Church for implicating the negation of the idea of Heaven and Hell as "temporal" locales. When Lyra met Lord Asriel in the far north, he told her that fifty years ago, the first ones to provide mathematical evidence for multiple worlds were excommunicated for their efforts. Some scholars, like the Cassington Scholar, believe that there are sound mathematical arguments for their theory concerning other worlds. Their theory is known as the Barnard-Stokes Conjecture.
