Tortured Witch

A witch who was captured by the Church, and who Mrs. Coulter tortures to make her reveal information. Just as she is about to reveal the secret name the witches have for Lyra (Eve, as it turns out), Serafina Pekkala reveals herself, in the role of Yambe-Akka, and mercifully kills the witch, then she escapes. She is from a clan called "Taymyr," which was the clan who helped the child-cutters until they found out their true intention, according to the witch's dæmon, an arctic tern.
