Tialys, Chevalier

A Gallivespian spy working for Lord Asriel. Originally sent by Lord Roke to the College of St. Jerome as a spy in the Consistorial Court of Discipline, Tialys and his companion the Lady Salmakia were reassigned to the duty of protecting and cooperating with Lyra Belacqua and Will Parry at the cave in the Himalayan mountains. Because the children would not return with the Gallivespians to Lord Asriel, the two spies traveled with them to the World of the Dead. The

Chevalier Tialys is in his eighth year of life and rides on a red and yellow dragonfly. He communicates with Lord Roke through an instrument called the Lodestone Resonator.

In the World of the Dead the Chevalier made possible their passage into the Land of the Dead by forcing Lyra to call out her Death. In the Land of the Dead Tialys discovered the Harpies listened and fed from true stories and was able to bargain with them.
