In the Book of Genesis the Garden of Eden is the place where Adam and Eve lived before the Fall. It is sometimes referred to as Heaven on Earth. In the middle of the Garden are two trees, the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. According to the Bible Eden was located near four rivers: Pishon, Gihon, Hiddekel (Tigris) and Euphrates, which suggests that it was somewhere in the Middle-East, although the location is the subject of much controvercy. After the Fall Adam and Eve were banished from Eden and God placed Cherubim and a flaming sword to guard the Tree of Life.
