Is the proper name for eskimo, people who lives in the antarctic regions of the world. When one thinks of them, people wearing seal skin clothing and lives in iglos are the things that come to mind. Most of them have taken the step into the 21st century.

In Lyra's world the inuits are called Samoyed's.
