Serafina Pekkala's snow goose dæmon. He is the first dæmon we meet in the book who can be as far away from his human counterpart as he wishes. He gives Lyra and the Gyptians all the essential information about the child cutters at Bolvangar. He appears to the Gyptians as Serafina Pekkala didn't want to embarrass Farder Coram as he is old and she appears young, as they were when they were lovers. He commands respect and behaves with dignity and decisiveness. Lyra is at first scared but fascinated by him, and she remains unwilling to incur his wrath. Kaisa is tender and protective toward the severed daemons he and Lyra release at Bolvangar. Although furious at what has been done, he keeps a cool head and devises a plan to let them out so that a break-in is not suspected. He is the first to assert that there are definitely many worlds.
