Kerosene

Kerosene is manufactured by essentially refining petrol further via distillation, and is commonly used in kerosene lamps and lanterns. This is it's main useage in the His Dark Materials trilogy, although the name, as with Electric and Anbaric, has been changed to Naphtha. In the modern world, it is mainly used in jet engines and a form of kerosene (RP-1) is mixed with oxygen to produce rocket fuel.
