King Ogunwe

One of Asriel's three high commanders, this Afric king's dæmon is a cheetah. When Asriel goes to meet Metatron at the edge of the abyss, he leaves Ogunwe in charge of defending the Basalt Fortress. Earlier Ogunwe had led the expedition of the Republic of Heaven's forces to the Himalayas, where he captured Mrs. Coulter, but they failed to reach her hideout in time to seize Lyra and Will.
