Smoking Leaf

In Lyra's World, Smoking Leaf (or Smoke Leaf) is the name for tobacco. In an early chapter of Northern Lights, Lyra and Pan observe Lord Asriel's butler stealing Leaf when he thinks he's not being watched. Later, Farder Coram seals a Spy-fly inside a Smoke Leaf tin for safety.
