Lookout Ridge
From Srafopedia
A ridge in Alaska, running east-west to the north of the Lookout River. This is stated as lying directly below the anomaly, and is where John Parry was headed once he reached the Nuniatak Dig.
The "exact" location is given as 69°02'11" N, 157°12'19" W. (The latitude is later corrected by Parry, in one of his letters, to 12" N -- not a major correction as one second of latitude is only 30m (100ft) in distance.) This location is actually boggy ground in the valley of the Lookout River, as can be seen in the Topozone map. The ridge is about 9km (5.7miles) to the north.
The location and its surroundings can be explored using Google Earth. Here are some views of the Ridge and the "location" in the valley of the Lookout River. (Click on image to see larger version.)
