Mason

A mason is a builder who works with stone or bricks, called masonry. Many of the specific skills associated with the repair and maintenance of ancient stone buildings are in short supply these days and skilled masons are much sought-after.

In Lyra's World, the Parslow family, to which Lyra's friend Roger belongs, are the masons who maintain the structure of Jordan College.
