Nicholas Wright

Nicholas Wright (born 1940) is a British playright. He has written plays staged by the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Court Theatre, and the Royal National Theatre amongst others. His play Vincent in Brixton was performed in London and New York and won the Laurence Olivier award for best new play in 2003. He has written several highly regarded adaptations of novels and other plays for the stage, as well as a number of screenplays.

In 2003 Wright was chosen to write the adaptation of His Dark Materials.
