Norway is a country in our world. Located in Scandinavia, just across the North sea from Britain. Lyra's world's counterpart is Norroway.

Norway has had a long history as the weaker part in a union with other countries, among them Sweden and Denmark. But in the year 1905 it left its union with Sweden and was officially free. Norway today is a huge oil and gas nation due to its large reserves in the North Sea.
