Plato
From Srafopedia
Plato (c. 428/427 B.C.E. 348/347 B.C.E.) was an ancient Greek philosopher, the second of the great trio of ancient Greeks– Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle –who between them laid the philosophical foundations of Western culture. Plato was also a mathematician and writer of philosophical dialogues. Plato is widely believed to have been a student of Socrates and to have been deeply influenced by his teacher's execution.1
One notable work is the Allegory of the Cave. The allegory is best presented as a story, and then interpreted, as Plato himself does. 2
