The images on the screen, cast by a projecting lantern in the Retiring Room meeting, are the reader's first exposure to Dust. The man in the image has a snake dæmon, like Lord Boreal. [[[TGC/NL]], Chapter 2] When the picture of the Aurora Borealis (the Northern Lights) is shown through an "emulsion treatment", a "City in the Sky" is seen, giving evidence of the existence of other worlds.
