Whitbread Book of the Year

The Whitbread Book of the Year is an award given to outstanding literary merit in children's literature. The company, Whitbread, is actually a catering industry, and a child company has recently taken over the book award - Costa Coffee. Henceforth, it has been renamed as the Costa Book of the Year.
Philip Pullman won the Whitbread Book of the Year award in 2001 for The Amber Spyglass, the third book in the His Dark Materials series.
