From Srafopedia

Grantpj: 26 Nov 08 - I've finally lost my patience with the spammers, so I've started blocking unregistered users from editing the most regular spam targets. Honestly, I've got better things to do with my time - but I hate to see people's hard work being vandalised.

CMR: [07.11.08] - Deleted some porn links someone had put up.

ArcT: Where have JParry and Anbaracity gone? They seem to have forgotten about the srafopedia... Okay, I know I did as well, but I'm getting back into the swing of it!

Ooh, and M_P is awesome! Article-Whore status has officially been achieved! Good going!

AlethiometerGal: I FINALLY GOT THE RIGHT PASSWORD IN! *Rejoices*

Authority: I was wondering about citing sources and such, it appears that the Wikipedia syntaxes for references and footnotes don't work. Why is that?

tramsaequan.: Short answer: You need templates. I sent a PM for the long answer.

AnneMaria: Just removed another list of spam links. Who the heck makes those?!

Thanks. These links are from spam bots (and human spammers). They try 1. to "advertise" their sites (although it's obvious that it's spam) or 2. to improve their search engine rankings. The sad thing is that "[u]nder the default configuration, MediaWiki adds rel="nofollow" to external links in wiki pages[...]" which means that they can't influence page ranking algorithms, so it's useless but annoying. Doesn't someone know a fancy little trick to lock the pages in a way so only members of Srafopedia, if not hisdarkmaterials.org, can edit the pages? All the information on the Skræling page has been replaced by "dv", and I can't edit it back to what it was before. If we lose a page like the dæmon page, it really stinks... --AnneMaria 17:39, 20 December 2007 (CET)

In theory, it would be possible to only give members of Cittagazze edit access but this is a little bit risky. It's not that difficult to prevent edit access of IP addresses entirely, too. However, it's not recommended because that's the way a wiki works - everybody can edit it.

There was no content on the Skræling page (that's the reason why you can't revert the changes), it's on the Skraeling page. According to my English HDM edition, Skraeling is even the right spelling.

However, if the real Skraeling page is vandalized, go to the history tab, search for the last not vandalized revision, click on the edit tab, copy everything, click on the article tab, then click on the edit tab, delete everything and insert the old but not vandalized content. Or you can point an administrator on it. We can revert it with a single click. Tramsaequan. 21:43, 20 December 2007 (CET)
